The price index for dairy products at the auction of Global Dairy Trade rose by 0.3%

The 281st GDT (Global Dairy Trade) auction of April 6, 2021 ended with a slight increase. The price index for dairy products increased by 0.3%, and prices for all products except lactose increased.
The weighted average price for dairy products at the 281st GDT auction was 4,081 USD / kg. Taking into account the weakening of the ruble against the dollar compared to the previous trading, the weighted average price of dairy products in the Russian currency increased by 4.4% to 312.6 rubles/kg, which is 37.8% higher than at the beginning of April 2020.
In total, 25,104 tons of dairy products were sold at the auction, which is 1.7 thousand tons less than at the previous auction. The number of bidders is 169.
At the auction, the prices of butter (+2%) and skimmed milk powder (+0.6%), cheddar (+2.2%), dehydrated milk fat (+0.8%), buttermilk (+17.6%) increased, only the price of lactose decreased by 6.5%.
The next Global Dairy Trade auction will take place on April 20, 2021.
