The authorities do not intend to postpone the labeling of ice cream and cheese in Russia
The meeting was attended by Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. According to a source of RIA Novosti, who also participated in the event, they indicated that there would be no postponement of the labeling of cheese and ice cream.
According to the audio recording of the meeting, which is available to the agency, the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that so far only 72% of cheese producers have joined the digital labeling system, and even less of ice cream producers - only 37%.
‘On Monday, we sent to the regional headquarters current lists of companies that specialize in a wide range of dairy products and which are also registered in the "Mercury" system, but still have not connected to the labeling system. It is obvious that the later this happens, the more burdensome it will be for everyone, taking into account the decision taken by the government,’ Manturov said.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture, in turn, noted that, according to the Ministry of agriculture, the situation with the connection of producers in the labeling system is better. ‘In our opinion, the percentage of registration in the "Honest Mark" system is quite high, and we do not see any prerequisites for postponing the dates for the first group, ice cream and cheese,’ Lut said.
‘There is a fairly systematic and good registration, and we understand that there are no risks for the remaining period. All enterprises must be registered. We have information on enterprises and regions that are not registered yet, so we will communicate with you online, but of course until June 1, all of them must be registered,’ the Deputy Minister added.
