Kevin Bellamy will speak during the business program of the XII Dairy Olympics
The expert will speak during the VIII Summer Dairy Summit with the report "New threats and new opportunities for the dairy industry of the world".
‘The pandemic period has forced consumers to change their preferences and re-prioritize their food choices. According to Rabobank, the growth of indicators will continue in 2021, as a result of which both producers and suppliers of raw materials will be forced to increase capacity to meet demand. In the short term, the situation will be favorable for retail: consumers will not soon return to the habit of visiting restaurants and cafes as actively as before the pandemic. Moreover, the closure of the usual public catering outlets additionally stimulates interest in home cooking. Many people will continue to buy products for the future due to the instability of prices and the continuing fluctuations in supplies,’ notes the expert of Rabobank.
According to Kevin Bellamy, the baby food sector in Asia, including China, shows good prospects for development.
‘It is obvious that today not all women have the opportunity to feed their children with breast milk. The average age of women who have given birth to children in China is growing every year. Against this background, the production of baby food in China is on the rise. Now Chinese companies have a lot of competition for everyone else,’ he said.
We remind the XII Dairy Olympics will take place from 23 to 27 May in Novorossiysk.
