The number of cows in the agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation decreased by 1.3% for the first eight months of the year

According to materials of Rosstat, the number of cows in the segment of agricultural enterprises from January to August 2016 fell by 1.3% and amounted to 3339,601 thousand heads on September 1.
The number of cattle in the agricultural organizations made up on a specified date 8486,14 thousand heads, according to The DairyNews with reference to by statistical office of the Russian Federation. This is 0.8% less than in 2015.

As it was reported earlier, according to the Research Center of Dairy Market, in average one cow in Russia has to “feed” 34 people. The TOP 10 regions of Russia where one cow “feeds” less people include such regions as the Republic of Mordovia, the Udmurt Republic, Altai Krai, Vologda, Kirov oblast, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Tyva, Voronezh, Ryazan oblast and the Republic of Dagestan.
