For seven months of the year imports of cheese and curd in Russia increased by 17.3%

Within the period from January to July 127 thousand tons of cheese and cottage cheese was imported to Russia, reports The DairyNews according to Rosstat data.
This is 17.3% more than for the same period last year.

Including 18.3 thousand tons of cheese and cottage cheese that were imported in July (+0.1% versus June).

Imports of butter during the seven months of the year decreased compared to 2015 by 5% and amounted to 49.6 thousand tons. Imports of non-condensed milk and cream fell by 0.1% to 139 thousand tons. While imports of condensed milk and milk cream increased from January to July by 12.7% to 123 thousand tons. Including 95.9 thousand tons of powder milk and cream that was imported to Russia and which is 21.4% higher than during the same period last year.

The import of palm oil and its fractions have increased for the seven months of the year by 11.8% and amounted to 447 thousand tons. In July the indicator has grown in comparison with June by 51.6% - 67.4 tons of palm oil was imported.
