The situation on basic agricultural markets is still quiet for the end user; however, the effects of devaluation and import substitution are almost worked out. This opinion was expressed by candidate of economic Sciences, General Director of the research Institute agricultural market studies (IKAR) Dmitry Rylko, in his speech at the conference "Suppliers and retail chains: the practice of effective interaction" at the exhibition World Food-2016, reports The DairyNews.
According to the expert, the agriculture in Russia is losing traditional sources of economic growth and the industry needs to look for something new.

"Effective demand is not yet recovering, although rapid shifts within categories continue. All domestic markets, with rare exception, moved to a glut," - emphasized Dmitry Rylko.

"I cannot agree with the thesis about overstocking, the prices for food are falling because solvency of the population is falling", - expressed his point of view, the Director of the Agency Infoline Ivan Fedyakov, noting that the people’s attitude to shopping is more reasonable.

According to Dmitry Rylko, the situation in agriculture is such that despite lower prices and the devaluation, even Russian meat manufacturers are uncompetitive in the export.

"We are completely dependent on imported equipment and technologies", - concluded the head of IKAR.
