DN: Please, tell us about your company.
АБ: The company Animat company was founded in 1983 in the French speaking part of Canada, in Quebec and it is the largest company to recycle tires in Canada. For the manufacture of products, like rubber mats, we use rubber crumb, obtained from the processing of tires. The company has 3 factories working 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. There are about 220 employees. We are widely represented in North and South America, European and Arab countries. I want to emphasize that there is an engineer in the company, who makes drawings for subsequent cutting to simplify work for the client at the installation location and not to waste time on cutting mats and to reduce the amount of possible wastes when installing. When ordering we first pay attention for what kind of building the client is searching the rubber coating: for slurry passages, for resting places, or for milking parlours.

DN: Can you mention preliminary results of 2016?
АБ: Personally, I have been working in the company Animat not so long, but I can say that in spite of the low price for milk, the level of sales and level of production have increased. We are pleased that the farmer values the comfort of the animal, which brings him profit. In 2016 new markets were opened in Europe. Of course, there are problems when communicating with the client, including the language barrier, problems with the concept of mentality, market activity, which differs from the European, American and Canadian. In 2017 we are planning to open a warehouse in Europe, where most of our standard products will be stored to reduce delivery time. We are also planning to translate the company website into the Russian language for the development of markets in Eastern Europe and CIS countries.

DN: Is there any difference between farmers from Western Europe and the CIS countries?
АБ: Yes, of course. If you look at the market development in the CIS countries - private business is at the very beginning of its development and agricultural enterprises are mostly state-owned. Making the decision in this case comes from the Supreme Court. Manager on the farm often does not make the decision himself but is only involved in making the decision. European farming is mainly a private business. The farm is owned by the family and decisions are taken directly by the owner. In the CIS countries there should be a completely different approach to the customer. It is the Director who should convey information about the product. Yes, it is necessary to play by the rules that are on the market. As they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

DN: Tell us about the products that will be presented at EuroTier.
АБ: During the exhibition we will present mats designed specifically for young animals - Transition. Also a new connection of our main product will be presented – the mats Interlock. This innovation is the winner of the exhibition SPACE, held in France. Interlok provides excellent grip of hooves with the floor in any surface condition, including clean surface or covered with wet or dry manure, with snow or ice. We invite you to become better acquainted with this and many other products at our stand at the exhibition EuroTier.

DN: Why did you decide to support the conference "Exporters of the future in the global dairy market"?
АБ: First, we are very interested in a decent list of experts and respected people. We also want to establish our company at a good level. The main direction of 2017 is the development and expansion of dealerships in the CIS countries, particularly in Russia. Therefore, participation in this conference is the first step to achieve the aim.
